About the Family
A lovely family based in the countryside just outside Sevenoaks is looking for a warm, reliable and experienced nanny to care for their two young children: four, and one, at the start of the role.
The family is open to different working arrangements, from shorter afternoon and evening shifts to three full days per week, depending on the right candidate's availability and preferences.
This is an excellent opportunity for a nurturing nanny looking for a long-term, part-time position with a welcoming family.
Working Hours
The family is ideally looking for care on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, although they may consider an alternative fixed three-day pattern on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays for the right person.
There are three possible working arrangements:
Option 1: Afternoon and Evening Care – 3pm to 7pm
Three days per week, approximately 12 hours.
School and nursery collections, followed by afternoon care, dinner and the children's evening routine.
Option 2: Full Days – 7:30am to 7pm
Three days per week, approximately 34.5 hours.
Full-day care of the youngest, with responsibility for the oldest before and after school.
The family is happy to discuss the different options and may be able to offer some flexibility around start and finish times for the right candidate.
Duties and Responsibilities
The role will involve a combination of sole-charge care for Eve during the day and care of both children before and after school, depending on the agreed working hours.
Responsibilities will include:
Providing attentive, nurturing and age-appropriate care for both children.
Caring for youngest throughout the day, including feeding, changing nappies (and possibly toilet training assistance once she is older), preparing meals, managing naps, organising play and planning suitable activities and outings.
Managing eldest school drop-off, if required, and collecting him from Sevenoaks Prep at approximately 3pm, or 5pm if attending after-school club.
Collecting youngest from Busy Bees in Sevenoaks, where applicable.
Safely transporting the children between school, nursery and home.
Preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks for the children.
Managing the children's afternoon and evening routines, including dinner, bath time and bedtime.
Supporting the children's development through creative play, reading, outdoor activities and age-appropriate experiences.
Taking the family dog for walks with the children where appropriate.
Undertaking light, child-related housekeeping, including tidying play areas, keeping the children's bedrooms organised, managing their laundry and cleaning up after meals and activities.
Providing care for both children during school holidays, when both will be at home.
About the Ideal Candidate
The family is looking for a nanny who is warm, affectionate, dependable and confident caring for two young children at different developmental stages.
The ideal candidate will:
Have previous experience caring for babies, toddlers and preschool-aged children.
Be confident managing the needs and routines of two children.
Be organised, proactive and able to plan engaging activities throughout the day.
Enjoy spending time outdoors and taking the children on walks and outings.
Be happy to help with light, child-related housekeeping.
Be a confident driver, with a full UK driving licence and ideally their own transport
The family has a friendly, well-trained Labrador who is an important part of family life. Someone who is happy to include the dog in suitable walks and outdoor activities with the children would be particularly welcome.
