Hello there - I am the mother of two amazing kids, Freddie who is 7 and Honey who is 3 (almost 4!)

Freddie suffers from a Cavernoma and is due to have brain surgery on 6th November. Because of this he has had seizures in the past. I am primarily with him at all times, so we are looking for someone to help care for our three-year-old daughter, Honey while also providing care for Freddie if need be. Practical support around the home will be needed as well. Honey attends nursery three days a week. The position would ideally be full-time, Monday to Friday with responsibilities including:

-Caring for Honey outside her nursery hours

-Cleaning and keeping the house organised

-Cooking and preparing family meals

-Helping with laundry and general household tasks

-Providing practical support to the family wherever needed

-Helping maintain a calm, safe and well-organised home environment

-Need to have their own car as driving the children round will be needed

Looking for someone who ideally understands seizures, will remain calm in an emergency and be comfortable following the family’s agreed seizure-management plan. A nursing qualification is not required, although first-aid training or relevant experience is necessary.

Personality and compatibility are extremely important. We are looking for someone warm, friendly, energetic and easy-going who can become a trusted and supportive presence in the home while remaining professional and dependable.

There are no animals in the home but because we visit grandparents house often there are lots of animals at their house, so comfortability around animals is crucial even though there are no animals in our family household.

Freddie is a fun-loving, football-mad little boy who loves playing in goal in the garden, collecting football cards, building Lego, gaming on his Nintendo Switch, and spending time outdoors — he particularly loves visiting his grandparent’s farm. He has a cerebral cavernoma which has caused seizures in the past and he is currently receiving specialist care and psychological support from GOSH. As a result of brain swelling, he currently has some difficulties with impulse control, emotional regulation and information processing.

G3 is a sweet, funny and spirited three-year-old with a wonderful imagination. She loves princesses, dressing up, Barbie, role play and outdoor adventures. She is confident, independent and a real joy — it's important she continues to feel equally loved and prioritised during what has been a challenging period.
