Nanny
A family based in Mayfair is looking for an experienced, warm and engaging Live-in Nanny/Governess to care for their 5-year-old daughter, who attends a leading girls' prep school locally.

This is a varied role combining the organisation and educational oversight of a governess position with the warmth, care and hands-on involvement of a nanny. The family is looking for someone who is genuinely passionate about working with children and who will invest in building a strong, trusting relationship with their daughter.

The Schedule

Term Time – Wednesday to Sunday

Term time:
Wednesday 2pm-8pm
Thursday 6:45am-10am & 3-8pm
Friday 7am-10am & 3-8pm
Saturday 8:30am-8pm
Sunday 8:30am-7pm

School Holidays – London
The role will operate on 24/6 basis.

School Holidays – Travelling
The family travels extensively during the school holidays.
When travelling, the role will operate on a 24/7 basis, with extra days of work given off during term-time in lieu.

This is a live-in position, and the successful candidate must be comfortable with regular international travel and the changing schedule that comes with joining a family while they are away.

The Role

During term time, mornings will involve helping the child get ready for the day, ensuring everything she needs for school is organised and taking her to school.

In the afternoons, the focus shifts to supporting her busy after-school schedule and providing a calm, organised presence around her education and daily routine.

The child has a number of tutors and teachers who attend after school, and the Nanny/Governess will take responsibility for coordinating these sessions, managing schedules and ensuring everything runs smoothly.

Responsibilities will include:
- Getting the child up, ready and organised for school.
- Preparing for the school day and ensuring everything she needs is packed and ready.
- School drop-offs and collection.
- Overseeing and coordinating tutors, teachers and extracurricular activities.
- Managing the child's after-school and evening routine.
- Taking an active interest in her education and development.
- Communicating with parents and relevant tutors or teachers as required.
- Encouraging good manners, independence and age-appropriate development.
- Providing engaging and stimulating activities outside of structured learning.
- Taking responsibility for the child's general wellbeing while in their care.

During the school holidays, there will be much more freedom to plan days together. The family would like someone who enjoys organising fun, interesting and age-appropriate activities, exploring new places and using this additional time to develop a strong bond with the child.

The Candidate

The family is looking for someone experienced, kind, loving and genuinely passionate about childcare.

While experience and professionalism are important, personality and approach will be equally significant. The family has its own approach to raising their daughter and wants someone who is flexible, adaptable and open-minded, rather than someone who arrives with a rigid view of how things should be done.

The ideal candidate will be:
- Experienced in nannying, governess or similar private household roles.
- Warm, affectionate and naturally engaging with children.
- Organised and capable of managing a busy educational and activity schedule.
- Flexible and adaptable to the family's parenting style and routines.
- Proactive without being overbearing.
- Comfortable working alongside tutors, teachers and other professionals.
- Keen to establish a genuine, long-term connection with the child.
- Happy and experienced travelling internationally with families.
- Comfortable with the intensity and flexibility required when travelling.
- French or Spanish would be a bonus, but is not essential.
- A driving licence is not required.
