Nanny
10799S-IB - Qualified Live-In Nanny - 24/5 - Oxfordshire, UK
Location: Oxfordshire
Job Description: A lovely family based in Wallingford, Oxfordshire (around 40 minutes by train into London Paddington), is seeking a full-time, live-in nanny to join them long-term and look after their 8-month-old boy. This is a sole-charge role for a single, permanent nanny, and the family are prioritising continuity and consistency for their son above all else.
He has a dairy and soy allergy and a sensitive stomach, and is currently on medication twice daily, so the nanny will need to be confident and hands-on with allergy management and a steady feeding routine. The family are looking for someone calm and quiet-natured who can still keep pace with his energy day to day.
The role is live-in, with the nanny on duty from Sunday evening through to Friday morning each week. In the initial phase, this will include full overnight (24h) availability, as the family are currently working with a separate night nanny to establish a settled sleep routine; this overlap is designed to support the new nanny during the transition, not to split the role permanently.
Once a settled sleep routine is in place, the same nanny will move to standard daytime hours (likely 8am - 6pm, TBC) for the remainder of the placement, ideally continuing with the family long-term. Both parents keep hectic, fast-changing schedules and travel for work at short notice, so the nanny should be happy working in a genuinely shared-care household, stepping in flexibly and welcoming the parents taking over whenever they have free time.
General duties include day-to-day allergy and feeding management, liaising with the GP, health visitor, paediatrician and/or dietician as needed, and providing engaging, age-appropriate developmental activities to match his energy and stage. The nanny will also be expected to accompany the family on trips, both within the UK and abroad. Some light housekeeping and tidying is required, though a housekeeper attends twice a week for all deep cleaning. Additional support with day-to-day childcare logistics, such as packing for outings and keeping supplies stocked, will also be expected.
The family have a small dog (a Maltese mix), so the ideal candidate should be comfortable around pets. A full driving licence is required, as an automatic car will be provided for use during working hours.
The ideal candidate will hold a Norland, Chiltern, or equivalent qualification, and will have extensive experience with babies under one, ideally including digestive or allergy-related needs.
