Happy Nest Nanny & Maternity Agency is delighted to be assisting a lovely professional family in Brentwood who are seeking a warm, experienced and reliable part-time nanny to care for their two young boys.

The eldest, aged six, is an imaginative, energetic boy who enjoys adventures, battling invisible monsters and playing video games. His younger brother, aged two, loves arts and crafts, sports and exploring the world around him.

The family also have two older stepsisters who stay on Wednesdays and alternate weekends.

Both parents are working professionals who divide their time between home and the office. They are looking for a caring, organised nanny who can provide a happy, nurturing environment and confidently manage the children's after-school routines.

The position offers 20 guaranteed hours per week, Monday to Friday, 3:30pm–7:30pm.

The family appreciate that some nannies may prefer additional hours and are happy to offer flexible daytime work involving errands, household organisation and housekeeping. These additional hours can be discussed with the right candidate.

The household also employs a cleaner and gardener.

THE ROLE WILL INCLUDE

• School and nursery collections.
• Providing attentive and engaging after-school care.
• Planning creative, educational and age-appropriate activities.
• Encouraging outdoor play, reading, crafts and imaginative games.
• Supporting homework and reading where appropriate.
• Preparing healthy, nutritious evening meals.
• Managing dinner, bath time and evening routines.
• Encouraging independence, kindness and positive behaviour.
• Keeping children's bedrooms, belongings and play areas organised.
• Maintaining good communication with the parents.
• Occasional evening babysitting by arrangement.

ADDITIONAL FLEXIBLE HOURS

For nannies seeking more than 20 hours weekly, the family can offer additional work, potentially including:

• Running errands and household shopping.
• Laundry and household organisation.
• General housekeeping and keeping the home tidy.
• Helping with everyday household tasks.

Additional hours and duties will be agreed with the successful candidate.

THE IDEAL NANNY

The family would love to welcome someone naturally warm, patient and enthusiastic, with bags of energy and a genuine passion for children's development.

The successful nanny will enjoy imaginative play, outdoor activities and supporting children at different developmental stages.

They should be reliable, organised, professional and comfortable working in a home where parents may occasionally be present.

Availability Monday to Friday, 3:30pm–7:30pm, is essential.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Ideally 5+ years' professional childcare experience.
• Experience with toddlers and school-aged children.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Enhanced DBS, ideally on the Update Service.
• Current paediatric first aid or willingness to complete before starting.
• Excellent, checkable professional references.
• Legal right to work in the UK.
• Good safeguarding knowledge.
