I’m sadly leaving the lovely family I’ve worked with for the past 3 years as I’m making a complete career change, so I’m helping them find a brilliant new nanny to take over from me.

They have two gorgeous girls, aged 18 months and 4. The eldest is at school every day until 3.15pm, so the majority of the day is spent one-to-one with the youngest.

They’re a really lovely, down-to-earth family and I’ve genuinely loved working for them. They’re looking for someone warm, kind and loving who genuinely enjoys being with children, but who is also proactive when it comes to early years development — planning activities, getting out and about, encouraging learning and keeping the girls busy and engaged.

Mum is a teacher and works out of the house during term time, so annual leave needs to be taken within the school holidays. The role comes with a total of 9 weeks off per year, including bank holidays. Mum is around more during the school holidays, and Dad works from home 1–2 days a week but is tucked away in his home office.

They have a cleaner, so there’s no heavy housework, just the usual nursery duties relating to the girls.

The family are big foodies, so someone who enjoys cooking and making varied, healthy meals for the children would be perfect. I’ve always made extra for Mum and Dad when cooking so someone happy to continue that would be a huge bonus!

There is occasional travel with the family, mainly to Italy and the countryside, and ideally they’d love someone with a little flexibility for occasional babysitting or the odd Saturday morning.

It really is a lovely role with a great family, and I’d love to find someone who will be as happy with them as I have been.
