Full Time Live Out Nanny

We need a sole charge, English-speaking career nanny to care for a baby born in June 2026 and his 2.5-year-old brother. Your focus will be mainly on the baby, as the toddler will attend preschool full-time. We are seeking a professional, experienced, confident career nanny.

Vital requirements:
EU passport or Dutch residence permit.
Location: The family is relocating to Amsterdam and planning to live in the Oud Zuid area.
Schedule: Monday - Thursday 8 - 6 pm and Friday 8 - 5 pm.
Total hours: 48 per week.

Both parents have busy jobs and travel for work, so flexibility will be appreciated.

Start Date: 4th January 2027.

Commitment & contract length: They are seeking a nanny keen to work with the family for 2 - 3 years. The initial contract will be seven months.

Responsibilities and duties:
Provide attentive, loving care to the children at all times
The toddler will attend preschool full time, assisting with drop-off, pick-ups, and caring for him when he is at home
Research, arrange, and attend classes and activities with the baby
Follow the baby's routine, support them with falling asleep, and plan outside time at least once a day
Provide a stimulating and engaging environment that encourages their developmental milestones
Maintain children’s routines and schedules
Child-related housekeeping (tidying play areas, children’s laundry, cleaning bottles, dishes, etc.)
Keep the children's rooms clean and tidy
Occasional groceries
Taking care of the children when they are unwell
Cooking - the family will discuss this during the interview. It's likely the Dad will cook for the children, but being open to cooking and happy to prepare organic, homemade, nutritious snacks is needed (the children don't have sugar or processed food).
Experience, qualifications, approach, and skills:

Minimum of five years' experience in childcare, ideally as a nanny
Previous extensive experience caring for children aged 6 months - 5 years is vital
Being proactive and using your initiative is key, e.g. arranging playdates, finding activities, and taking action on child-related tasks
Routines are important to the family; someone who is also routine-focused is needed
Communicate regularly with parents regarding children’s needs and progress
Explain and be patient, but firmly hold boundaries
Someone knowledgeable who keeps up with the latest childcare approaches
It's a plus if you speak French (not a requirement)
A nanny happy to provide the children with a screen-free environment and who is also conscious of their phone usage.

You will be guaranteed 48 paid hours per week (due to Dutch labour laws, the hours will be adjusted some weeks)
One of the parents has a severe nut allergy. They will need a nanny to assist with introducing nuts to the baby's diet (the parents will explain this process thoroughly during the interview)
Non-smoking position
