Live-In Family Assistant / Housekeeper

We are looking for a warm, fun and responsible live-in Family Assistant / Housekeeper to join our household and help with our 12-year-old daughter, her equestrian lifestyle and the day-to-day running of our home.

Our daughter continues her home-school studies online via Zoom with her current tutor, so this is not a teaching role. We are looking for someone who can be a great companion and positive influence, help her enjoy an active and varied week, and provide practical support around the home.

The position is approximately 35 hours per week, with some flexibility around horse shows, outings and occasional family travel.

The role

* Taking our daughter to and from the stables and accompanying her while she is there
* Ensuring good horse and stable safety at all times
* Accompanying her to equestrian shows and events, both when she is participating and when attending to watch
* Helping her get organised for show days and supporting her around the showground
* Driving her to play dates, activities and outings
* Planning fun, creative and age-appropriate activities
* Encouraging an active lifestyle, outdoor time and independence
* Helping her stay organised with her daily routine
* Keeping the home clean, tidy and organised
* General housekeeping
* Laundry, including washing, folding, ironing and putting clothes away
* Keeping bedrooms and shared spaces organised
* Occasional errands and general household assistance
* Occasionally travelling with the family to our home in Spain

Who we’re looking for:

We would love to find someone warm, kind, energetic and fun who genuinely enjoys spending time with children, while also being responsible and confident enough to set sensible boundaries.

You should be proactive and able to see what needs doing without always needing to be asked. We’re looking for someone who will become part of the rhythm of the household rather than simply completing a list of tasks.

Horse experience is strongly preferred. Horses and showjumping are a big part of our daughter’s life. She spends a lot of time at the stables and regularly attends equestrian shows, both to participate and as a spectator.

You don’t need to be an accomplished rider, but you should be confident around horses, understand basic horse and stable safety and be comfortable spending time at shows and in a busy equestrian environment.

A full driving licence and confident driving ability are essential.

The position would particularly suit someone who loves horses, travel, family life and being active, and who enjoys a varied role where no two weeks are necessarily the same.

This role could also suit someone with a part time remote job as they will have a good amount of free time.

Hours & package

Approximately 35 hours per week, arranged flexibly around the family’s schedule. Horse-show days or occasional travel may involve different hours, balanced with time off during the week.

The package includes:

* €1,600 per month
* Private room provided
* Full board – accommodation, household food and meals included
* Own car provided
* Fuel covered for work-related driving
* Travel and associated expenses covered when accompanying the family
