The Role:
A warm family based in Hampstead is looking for an experienced, professional and dependable part-time nanny to care for their 9-year-old son.
The family is looking for someone who can build a positive and engaging relationship with their son and become a consistent part of his weekly routine. He enjoys reading and playing board games and has a fairly structured after-school and evening routine.
The nanny's main responsibilities will include school collection, accompanying him home, supervising dinner, supporting him with homework, reading and spending quality time together, as well as helping with his evening routine. Dinner will generally be prepared in advance or require only simple preparation.
His usual bedtime is around 7:30–8pm.
The school is approximately a 15-minute walk from the family home, so a driver is not required.
Initial Week – 28th September to 2nd October:
The position will begin with a particularly busy week for the family, during which they require additional cover.
For Monday 28th September–Friday 2nd October, the nanny will be required every weekday from school collection until approximately 11pm.
School collection is at:
Monday–Thursday: 4:45pm
Friday: 3:45pm
This first week will therefore involve considerably more hours than the nanny's usual permanent schedule.
Ongoing Permanent Hours:
Following the initial week, the regular schedule will be:
Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday
3:30pm–7:30pm
12 guaranteed hours per week
The family would ideally like to find a nanny who can offer some flexibility for occasional later evenings until approximately 11pm, as well as the possibility of additional hours or days when required.
The family can generally provide advance notice of their schedule, and any additional hours would be agreed separately and paid on top of the nanny's guaranteed hours.
The Ideal Nanny:
The family is particularly keen to find an experienced professional nanny who genuinely enjoys working with school-aged children.
They are looking for someone who is warm, dependable and engaging, and who will take an interest in their son's hobbies and enjoy spending time with him.
Someone confident supporting homework, encouraging reading and enjoying activities such as board games would be a great fit.
The nanny should be comfortable working independently and managing the after-school and evening routine.
English is required, and French would be a bonus but is not essential.
Salary & Employment:
£25 gross per hour
The permanent position offers 12 guaranteed hours per week, with any additional agreed hours paid on top.
This is a long-term, employed nanny position.
