A warm and proactive part-time housekeeper is sought for a lovely family of four in Herne Hill, looking after a three storey family home and providing a helping hand with housekeeping, laundry, organisation and occasional childcare support.

Job Summary:
Our client is a friendly family of four living in a lovely, three-storey home in Herne Hill. Both parents work full time and are looking for someone who can become a trusted and reliable part of their household.

The family are looking for more than someone who simply completes a list of cleaning duties. They would love a housekeeper with a "muck in" attitude — someone who notices when something needs doing and simply gets on with it.

For example, if the soap dispenser needs refilling, they would appreciate someone who notices it and takes care of it without needing to be asked.

The home has four bedrooms, one of which is currently used as an office, along with one bathroom and one WC.

The position is required two days per week, on Mondays and Thursdays.

On these days, the youngest is at a childminder, with collection at around 5pm, while the older child finishes school and is around the home.

Dad will generally be at home, but the successful candidate should be happy to keep an eye on the child when needed — for example, giving the child a healthy snack or providing a little supervision.

This is very much a family-friendly housekeeping role, rather than a nanny position. The primary focus will remain on maintaining and organising the home.


Job specification:
• General cleaning and tidying throughout the home
• Keeping the household organised and running smoothly
• Laundry (with some ironing)
• Noticing and taking care of those small household jobs that need doing
• Running occasional errands when required
• Being happy to provide some light childcare support when needed
• Keeping an eye on the children and preparing healthy snacks
• Being flexible and willing to help where needed

Candidate specification:
• Experienced in a similar private household housekeeping role
• Child friendly and comfortable around young children
• Proactive and naturally organised
• Someone with a genuine "muck in" attitude
• Happy to notice what needs doing and take care of it without being asked
• Warm, friendly and pleasant to have around the home
• Reliable, trustworthy and discreet
• Flexible and happy to help with the wider running of the household
