About us
We are a warm, easy-going family of three, soon to be four. Our second baby is due around 19 November 2026 and will be roughly six weeks old when the role begins. We also have a lovely 2-year-old son, who sleeps through the night in his own room and is not part of the night nanny's responsibilities at all.

The role
We are looking for someone experienced, reassuring and confident with newborns, who can take full responsibility for our baby overnight so that we can get some rest.

You and the baby will have our living room to yourselves overnight. It is a comfortable, warm room, set up properly for the two of you with everything you need within reach as it is connected to the kitchen, and we keep out of it from 7pm so that you are not disturbed. We sleep in our own bedroom in the apartment.

Feeding
I am hoping to breastfeed, though we know feeding plans can change once baby arrives. We are looking for someone confident supporting breastfeeding, expressed milk, combination feeding or formula, depending on what works best for baby and me.

If breastfeeding, we would expect you to bring baby to me for feeds and then take over again afterwards with winding, changing and settling, so that I can get back to sleep as quickly as possible.

Responsibilities
- Full overnight care of our newborn
- Bringing baby to Mum for breastfeeding, if applicable
- Bottle, expressed milk or formula feeds as required
- Winding, changing, soothing and settling baby back to sleep
- Supporting gentle, age-appropriate sleep habits, following current safe-sleep guidance
- Preparing, cleaning and sterilizing bottles and feeding equipment used overnight
- Keeping baby's area and feeding equipment tidy
- A simple overnight record of feeds, sleep and nappies, and a handover in the morning
- Practical newborn guidance and reassurance where helpful

About you
- Significant professional newborn experience, particularly with babies under 3 months
- Previous night nanny and/or maternity nurse experience
- Calm, warm, discreet and extremely reliable
- Excellent, checkable recent references
- Enhanced DBS and current Paediatric First Aid
- Strong knowledge of newborn feeding, settling, sleep and safe-sleep practice
- Comfortable supporting different feeding approaches without being prescriptive
- Confident working independently overnight

We would particularly value someone experienced and reassuring who will also listen to and respect our preferences as parents. We are keen to benefit from your expertise while finding the approach that works best for our baby and our family.

Rate and terms

£20–£22 gross per hour depending on experience, equal to £240–£264 for each 12-hour night. Start date is guaranteed even if baby arrives early or late.

To apply, please tell us:
- About your recent newborn and night-nanny experience, particularly with babies under 3 months
- Your availability for all 20 nights, 3–29 January 2027
- Your expected hourly rate, whether that figure is gross or net, and whether you work on a self-employed basis
- Details of two recent, contactable references

We look forward to hearing from you.
