The family are looking for a mature, nurturing and experienced Nanny to give their little boy — born August 2024 — the excellent, individualised care he thrives on.

He’s a happy, sociable little boy with a lovely established routine, already enjoying classes, groups, playdates and activities. From September he’ll begin three hour nursery mornings, Monday to Friday, adding a new and exciting rhythm to his week.

This is a shared care role within a genuinely involved household: the mother is very present and hands-on with her son’s day, and the father works from a home office, so you’ll be joining a family who are engaged, appreciative and easy to work alongside. They’re looking for a confident self-starter with a relaxed yet professional manner — someone who takes real pride in delivering outstanding care while supporting the wider family with warmth, discretion and ease.

As a lovely bonus, the family also has a friendly, trained four-year-old Golden Retriever (who has his own dog walker!) — a much-loved and gentle presence in the home.

Job duties
Responsibilities of the Live-in Nanny in Kensington, include:
Providing attentive, loving and age-appropriate care to the little boy throughout the working day
Managing the morning nursery routine (from September) and facilitating all classes, groups, playdates and activities
Grocery shopping and preparing fresh, nutritious meals and snacks for the child
Maintaining the child’s routine and continuing to support its development as he grows
Accompanying the family on occasional travel as required and agreed
Holding the baby monitor overnight (the little boy rarely wakes)
Liaising warmly and professionally with both parents, recognising the shared care nature of the role
Working collaboratively with the family’s housekeeper, who handles the baby’s laundry on a five-day-a-week basis
Occasional proxy parenting if the parents travel, or few nights mid week, though this is rare

Candidates must be/have:
Experienced and confident working with babies and toddlers
Mature, caring and calm in their approach
A self-starter who is active, hardworking and takes initiative
Flexible and adaptable in approach to hours and schedule
Professional in manner, with a clear understanding of the shared care dynamic
Experienced in preparing fresh, nutritious meals for young children
Comfortable living in a family home on a Monday – Friday residential basis
French speaking (desirable)
A valid DBS certificate or willing to undergo a DBS check
Paediatric First Aid certificate (current)
Excellent references from previous private household positions
Right to work in the UK

Accommodation
A private bedroom and ensuite bathroom is provided. Accommodation is on a Monday to Friday residential basis.

Hours

Full-time, Monday to Friday.

The start and finish times will be adapted to accommodate the family’s commitments — for example, starting later to allow for an evening out, or starting earlier when the parents have a morning engagement.

The family are happy for the Nanny to have downtime i.e. gym class when the child is at nursery.

Salary
£55,000 – £60,000, depending on experience.
