A warm and welcoming family based in Stroud, Gloucestershire, is seeking an experienced and confident Temporary Proxy Parent Nanny to care for their three children while Mum is in hospital welcoming their new baby.
This is a wonderful opportunity for a calm, organised and nurturing nanny who is comfortable taking full responsibility for the household and children for approximately 48 hours. The successful candidate will effectively step into Mum's shoes, ensuring the children's routines continue as normally as possible while providing reassurance, structure and loving care.
The Children
8 years old
5½ years old
2½ years old
The two older children attend school, which is approximately a 20-minute drive from the family home, while the youngest will remain at home during the day.
Duties & Responsibilities
Providing sole-charge care for all three children throughout the assignment.
Following the family's established routines and maintaining consistency.
School drop-offs and pick-ups.
Preparing healthy meals and snacks.
Planning engaging, age-appropriate activities for the youngest child.
Enjoying walks in the nearby forest with the youngest child and, where appropriate, the family dogs.
Managing bath time, bedtime routines and overnight care.
Providing emotional reassurance and creating a calm, happy environment while Mum is in hospital.
General child-related housekeeping, including tidying play areas, children's laundry if required, and keeping children's spaces organised.
Feeding and providing basic care for the family's two friendly Golden Retrievers.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal nanny will have:
Extensive professional nanny experience caring for multiple children.
Previous proxy parenting experience and confidence taking sole charge overnight.
Ideally, experience raising children of their own.
A full, clean UK driving licence and their own reliable car (essential).
An Enhanced DBS certificate.
A current Paediatric First Aid qualification.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
A warm, nurturing and reliable personality.
Confidence around dogs and willingness to care for the family's two Golden Retrievers during the assignment.
Accommodation
The nanny will have their own comfortable guest bedroom for the duration of the placement.
Salary
The family is offering £600–£800 for the approximately 48-hour assignment, depending on experience and qualifications.
