Dates: Thursday, 30th July 2026 and Wednesday, 5th August 2026
Hours: 13:30 to 17:30 (4 hours per day)
Total Payment: £200.00 total (£100.00 per day)
Job Overview
An experienced, compassionate, and reliable temporary carer is required to support a 67-year-old lady living in Thetford. The client has Parkinson’s disease and suffers from chronic pain. This role primarily focuses on providing mobility assistance and companionship for an important hospital appointment, followed by light domestic support if time permits.
Key Responsibilities
• Appointment Escort: Arrive at 13:30 to assist client from her home into a pre-booked taxi.
• Hospital Support: Travel with the client in the taxi to West Suffolk Hospital for her 14:30 appointment.
• Mobility Assistance: Help the client safely transfer into a hospital wheelchair (available at reception) and wheel her to and from her clinic appointment.
• Return Journey: Assist her back into a taxi after the appointment and accompany her home.
• Domestic Assistance: If time allows before 17:30, provide light housework support. Bernadette specifically requires help with changing bed sheets and general cleaning.
Candidate Requirements
• Experience: Prior experience caring for individuals with Parkinson’s disease or mobility impairments is highly preferred.
• Physical Capability: Ability to safely assist with transfers (in/out of vehicles) and confidently push a wheelchair.
• Attributes: Patient, warm, punctual, and physically gentle due to the client's chronic pain.
