A compassionate live-in Maternity Nurse opportunity supporting a family welcoming their second baby, providing expert newborn care and reassurance.


Job Summary

This family are looking for a kind, experienced Maternity Nurse to join them for the first two weeks following the arrival of their second baby. Their first birth involved a prolonged labour followed by an emergency caesarean section, and they are hoping for an experienced professional who can provide both practical support and reassurance during the early days.

The primary focus will be caring for the newborn and supporting Mum with breastfeeding whilst she recovers. Dad will be at home caring for their 2½-year-old son, allowing the Maternity Nurse to concentrate on Mum and baby, although a warm and friendly approach towards their toddler will be greatly appreciated. Having recently lost the nanny who has been with him since birth, he is understandably adjusting to a lot of change, so a gentle and reassuring presence will make a real difference.

The family have no relatives nearby, and are looking for someone calm, nurturing and experienced who can step into the home with confidence, providing expert newborn care whilst helping the whole family feel supported during this important transition.


Job Specification
• Providing 24-hour care for a newborn
• Supporting Mum with breastfeeding and postnatal recovery
• Monitoring the baby's wellbeing and development during the booking
• Undertaking all nursery duties
• Offering reassurance and practical guidance to the parents
• Building a positive relationship with the family's 2½-year-old
• Working collaboratively with Dad, who will primarily care for the toddler
