KT11, Oxshott. Kind and empathetic Carer/Support Worker for a 41-year-old female with complex healthcare needs. Up to £20.33 gross per hour. £24,336.00 gross per annum based on 24 hours per week.

Essential:
• Experience supporting an adult with complex healthcare needs.
• Experience with controlled medication, palliative care and mental health.
• Able to support fluctuating moods linked to health conditions.

Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: 24 hours per week. Saturday 9:30am–9:30pm and Sunday 9:30pm–Monday 9:30am. Additional hours available to cover sickness and annual leave.
Accommodation: Carer's bedroom and bathroom available during shifts.

About this child/client
Amy, 41, enjoys cross-stitch, online shopping and collecting Jellycats. She has complex medical conditions including Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Mast Cell Activation Disorder, Gastroparesis, non-epileptic seizures, PTSD, spinal instability and a likely acquired brain injury. Amy experiences chronic pain, fatigue and fluctuating emotions. She is mostly bed-bound and requires support with transfers, personal care, daily bed bathing and commode use.

overview of role
You will provide 1:1 day and overnight support. Overnight duties include responding to seizures, pain management needs and other care requests via a bedside alert system. Some nights are quiet, while others require regular support. Daytime duties include personal care, medication support, light household tasks such as laundry and ironing, and providing companionship through conversation, games or quiet activities at Amy's pace. Full training is provided for specialist tasks if required.

A calm, empathetic and emotionally resilient Support Worker who understands complex health conditions and fluctuating emotions. You will know when to offer support and when to give Amy space. You must be comfortable working in her family home, respect her Christian faith, DNR and ADRT decisions, avoid strong fragrances and certain foods due to severe allergies, and be willing to cover additional shifts when available.
