Happy Nest Nanny & Maternity Agency are delighted to be supporting a lovely family based near Maidstone, Kent, who are looking for an experienced, calm and nurturing overnight maternity nanny to support them with their newborn daughter.
Their baby girl was born in June 2026 and is currently around two weeks old. The family are looking for overnight support for 4–8 weeks, starting from Monday 6th July 2026. The required nights are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday, working from 10:00pm until 7:00am.
Mum is currently breastfeeding and expressing one bottle per day, which will be used for one of the night feeds. The role will involve providing gentle and reassuring overnight care for baby, supporting with feeds, winding, settling and resettling, nappy changes, and helping to establish calm and supportive night-time routines.
Baby is still very young and currently finds it difficult to be put down, so the family would love someone patient, warm and confident with newborns who can offer both practical support and reassurance during these early weeks.
The family also have a postpartum doula supporting them on Thursday and Friday nights, so this role will work alongside the wider support already in place, ensuring continuity of care for both baby and mum.
There is a bed available for the maternity nanny to rest in between feeds. The household is gluten-free, so the successful candidate must be respectful and mindful of this within the family home.
Duties will include:
Providing overnight care for a newborn baby girl
Supporting with expressed bottle feeds during the night
Bringing baby to mum for breastfeeds if required
Winding, changing, settling and resettling baby overnight
Supporting with safe sleep routines and gentle newborn care
Helping mum maximise rest and recovery overnight
Cleaning and sterilising bottles and feeding equipment used during the shift
Keeping the nursery and baby areas tidy overnight
Providing calm, reassuring guidance to the family during the early newborn stage
Communicating clearly with parents and the postpartum doula to ensure continuity of care
The ideal candidate will be:
Experienced and confident with newborn babies
Calm, gentle, nurturing and reassuring
Supportive of breastfeeding and expressed bottle feeding
Confident with babies who need additional comfort and contact
Respectful of the family’s home, routines and gluten-free household
Reliable, discreet and professional
Able to commute reliably to Maidstone, Kent for overnight shifts
Happy Nest Nanny & Maternity Agency standard requirements:
Minimum of 5 years’ professional maternity experience
Excellent and checkable references from previous families or employers
Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service,
Up-to-date Paediatric First Aid certificate
Relevant childcare or maternity qualification preferred, or substantial professional newborn experience
Must be already registered with the agency.
Confident supporting breastfeeding, bottle feeding and expressed milk routines
Knowledge of safe sleep guidance and current newborn care practices
Reliable, punctual and able to commit to the full booking period wherever possible
