Driving Requirements: Yes, and happy to use your own vehicle for work purposes. Business insurance costs covered, mileage paid at 0.45p per mile.
Essential: Experience working within a small home care team or family home. Experience supporting under-16s with additional needs. Excellent English language skills. *Female applicants only.
Desirable: Experience supporting young people with a brain injury. Recent graduate or student within therapy (OT, Physio, SaLT, Music, Play).
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:30/7:00am–10:00/10:30am, plus one to two after-school shifts weekly, 1:30pm–5:30pm (agreed days). Fridays 6:00am–5:00pm and 2–3 Saturdays monthly, 8:00am–1:00pm. School holidays: Flexible daytime hours two days weekly.

Lucy sustained a brain injury before age three, meaning she finds learning more difficult, tires easily, and needs support to stay safe and manage routines. She benefits from gentle guidance, structure, and encouragement to help her stay focused, recognise when she needs rest, and continue growing in confidence.

overview of role
A clear care plan is in place covering Lucy’s morning routine, school support, after-school activities, and therapy appointments. Lucy can get ready with gentle prompts and is usually ready for school before 8:00am. After drop-off, there is time to tidy Lucy-related items and complete handover notes. You will support some therapy appointments and activities, including speech therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and horse riding. One afternoon each week will focus on fun local activities chosen with Lucy.
