Couple Sought to Live and Work on St Michael's Mount, Cornwall

A family of five are seeking an organised, adaptable and energetic couple to live and work at the castle on St Michael’s Mount.

The roles combine caring for a private family home with supporting the day-to-day logistics and operations of island life, which requires flexibility, resilience and a love of living in a weather- and tide-dependent environment.

Nanny Housekeeper Role
Three children aged 3 years, 18 months and a baby due later in the year.

A childcare and housekeeping role focused on maintaining a welcoming, well-run home.
Duties include before- and after-school childcare, household organisation, supervising housekeeping during visitor periods, caring for historic interiors and managing supplies. Ideal candidates are calm, organised and experienced in private households or heritage properties. The role can also include cooking responsibilities for someone confident in the kitchen.

Castle Steward Role
A practical, hands-on role overseeing maintenance and island logistics. Responsibilities include supporting fire and security systems, coordinating contractors, carrying out maintenance tasks, assisting with events and helping with deliveries and household logistics.

The ideal couple will be discreet, trustworthy, collaborative and physically comfortable with steep, uneven terrain. Experience in estates, heritage properties or private households is highly valued.

A private two-bedroom castle apartment with views over Mount’s Bay is included, and dogs are welcome. Salary dependent on experience.
