Rotananny
Experienced, professional education-focussed Rota Nanny required on behalf of our partner agency in Switzerland:
A warm, energetic and highly professional nanny-educator / nanny-governess is required for a wonderful young family in Switzerland. This is a 2-weeks on / 2-weeks off rota role. The nanny must be fluent in English or French to native level and hold a university degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field.
This is a sole and shared charge position. Mum is currently at home but will return to work; she is supportive, respectful, and values a positive long-term relationship with her nanny. This role is ideal for someone passionate about child development and giving children the best start in life.
The nanny should be confident caring for a new baby, as well as lively children aged 5 and 3. Occasional overnights with the baby may be required in the early months. One of our trusted maternity nurses is currently with the family and describes them as truly wonderful employers.
Accommodation includes a private bedroom and bathroom. The family is warm, down-to-earth, and values a collaborative, respectful working relationship.
During school hours, the nanny will focus on the baby. Once the older children return home, mum takes over baby care and the nanny supports the two older children.
Responsibilities
Plan and lead age-appropriate, educational and creative activities.
Maintain consistent routines: school transitions, meals, quiet time, bath and bedtime.
Support emotional development, social skills, manners, and respectful behaviour.
Encourage independence using Montessori-inspired principles.
Organise outdoor play, physical activities, outings, and playdates.
Support early learning: reading, fine motor skills, language and cognitive development.
Prepare healthy meals/snacks; manage children’s laundry and nursery organisation.
Work collaboratively with parents and household staff to maintain a calm, structured environment.
The ideal nanny is warm, energetic, experienced, confident with boundaries, and able to support strong-willed or energetic children with emotional regulation and positive behaviour. Occasional travel to the family’s mountain home (2 hours away) and rare international travel may be required.
Family Ethos
The family prioritises raising kind, confident, capable and respectful children within a calm, structured and loving environment. They value clear boundaries, consistent routines, independence, curiosity, and emotional awareness. Montessori principles guide daily life, encouraging practical skills, responsibility, and participation.
They emphasise outdoor play, creativity, reading, and learning through real-life experiences. Behaviour is guided through consistency, natural consequences, and respectful communication rather than punishment. They seek a nanny who shares these values and can be a trusted partner in their children’s development.
Parenting Style
Warm, connected and structured. Emotions are always accepted; behaviour is guided with calm leadership, routine, and clear expectations. Independence, resilience, manners, and responsibility are encouraged. The nanny should confidently uphold boundaries while maintaining a positive, nurturing relationship with the children.
