AH 157: Job Description: 4 day per week nanny, Brook Green
Arthur’s House is supporting a warm family in Brook Green, West London, in the search for a confident, energetic, and proactive nanny to care for their two young boys.
Key Details:
- Location: Brook Green
- Tuesday to Friday
- 8:00am to 6:00pm
- 40 hours per week
- Start date: September, 2026
- Children: Two boys (currently 5 months and 2 years old) Older child attends nursery in the mornings during term time
- Salary: £20 to £25 gross per hour, depending on experience and fit
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive, warm, and developmentally appropriate care for both children
- Plan and lead engaging daily activities, including crafts, art, outdoor play, and age-appropriate learning
- Support nursery learning and any home learning tasks through play-based activities
- Encourage good routines and boundaries, including support around mealtimes and eating manners
- Keep the children’s areas tidy and organised and maintain a calm, structured day
- Communicate clearly and proactively with parents on routines, milestones, and daily updates
- Building upon English language skills for the two-year-old, who is already ready communicating well for his age.
- The children respond well to animated, interactive play
- Support feeding routine: prepare bottles/feeds as directed, follow parent preferences and any allergy guidance
- Lead weaning introduction when developmentally appropriate: prepare age-appropriate foods, introduce new tastes/textures gradually, and keep a simple weaning log (foods tried + reactions)
- Maintain hygiene and safety during feeding/weaning: sterilise equipment as required, clean high chair/feeding area, and follow safe food handling
- Support healthy sleep routines: age-appropriate naps, settling techniques aligned with the parents, and monitor sleep cues
- Handle all baby care: nappy changes, dressing, bathing as needed, and keeping baby’s items organised (changing bag, clothes, bottles, bibs)
- Encourage development: tummy time, sensory play, early communication, and age-appropriate outings
- Keep baby’s environment safe: supervise at all times, check toys for suitability, and maintain a calm, structured routine

- Energetic, confident, and highly engaged, especially with the older child who responds best to animated, interactive care
- Proactive and creative in planning activities/ playdates and supporting early learning
- Before starting nursery, the eldest attended one class a day for two years and still keeps in touch with many of the other children, seeing them regularly in the afternoons and during the holidays.
- Comfortable supporting an academically focused household and preparing the children for the demands of a prep school environment
- Strong communicator.
