Rota Governess - International Travel - August/September 2026
An international UHNW family is looking for an experienced and qualified Governess- Teacher/Tutor to join their established childcare team for their toddler twins.
Highlights:
- Start: August/September 2026
- Location: International travel
- Working Hours: 12/7, 1 months on/1 month off
- Salary: Competitive + travel expenses covered
Overview:
This is a hands-on role that combines both education and nanny support, working closely with the Lead Nanny and wider household team to ensure the children are happy, engaged and progressing well in their development. The focus is on creating a consistent, engaging and developmentally appropriate learning environment, both at home and while travelling.
The position would suit someone who is confident balancing structured learning with a natural, nurturing approach to childcare, and who enjoys working as part of a collaborative, fully staffed household.
The family is very hands-on and value their time together, so someone who is intuitive, discreet and able to “read the room” will fit well in this environment.
Duties included but not limited to:
- Plan and deliver a structured but engaging educational programme, in line with EYFS through to Key Stage 1
- Tailor learning to each child’s stage of development, interests and learning style
- Keep track of progress and provide regular, clear reports, including next steps in learning
- Create a balance of play-based learning, routine and exploration
- Support early literacy, numeracy and communication skills in a natural and enjoyable way
- Work within the wider team to ensure smooth day-to-day running
- Work closely with the nanny team to support daily routines and overall wellbeing
- Step in where needed with typical nanny duties (meals, routines, play, transitions)
- Help prepare for travel and ensure educational materials are organised and accessible
- Keep children’s spaces and belongings tidy and well organised
- Be proactive in creating a calm, positive and structured environment
Benefits:
- Own bedroom & bathroom provided in each location (may be required to share when on yachts)
- No driving required
- Visas will be provided when necessary (must be able to be in the UK & Europe visa free)
Key criteria:
- A recognised teaching qualification (Early Years to Key Stage 1)
- Experience working as both a Governess and Teacher/Tutor within a private household is desirable.
- Confident working in a fully staffed home and as part of a team
- Strong understanding of early years development and early primary education
- Organised, proactive and able to take initiative
- Adaptable, ideally with experience working within classroom settings and private homes.
- Warm, engaging and genuinely interested in children’s development
- Comfortable travelling internationally
