A kind and welcoming British family based in Abu Dhabi is seeking a qualified and experienced live-out SEN nanny to support the care and development of their 7-year-old twins, a boy and a girl. Their son has dyspraxia and the family is seeking a candidate who is comfortable and experienced working with multiple children along with a child with additional needs. The ideal candidate will work as a real team player and work alongside other team members supporting him including occupational therapists and his 1:1 shadow teacher at school.
This is a long-term position for a loving, playful, proactive and fully invested career nanny who is confident supporting children with additional needs and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team. A person who is naturally self-motivated and interested in child development and forward thinking about age-appropriate activities that will assist the children, not only academically but physically, emotionally and socially.
The role will involve supporting the child’s daily routines, emotional regulation, education, and overall development while working closely alongside therapists, school staff, and parents to ensure consistency and structure. The SEN nanny will assist with getting the children ready for school and driving them to school as well as collection, along with after school activities, mealtimes with the family and routines. Someone with a gentle approach towards teaching positive behaviour, manners and etiquette. The parents may travel from time to time, therefore a candidate who is happy to proxy parent when needed along with a couple of other members of staff who will ensure the daily running of the household. This is a predominantly childcare and educational role. A confident driver with a clean driving license is necessary for the role. The working schedule is 5 days per week, up to 12 hours daily although the children are at school 5 during the day so it is unlikely the hours will be 12 daily during term time. The salary on offer is from 25,000 UAE Dirhams per month depending on qualifications. The family will assist in finding and providing a live-out apartment close to their home. They travel frequently; therefore, a candidate who is willing and flexible to travel at short notice is preferred,
The ideal candidate will be nurturing yet confident in setting appropriate boundaries, highly organised, flexible, and genuinely passionate about child development and SEN support.
Requirements
• Fluent English speaker
• Driver required
• Minimum 5 years’ nanny/governess experience
• SEN/ADHD experience essential
• Childcare or education qualifications preferred
• Clean Enhanced DBS (available on the update service)
• In date Paediatric First Aid
• Excellent references
• Confident with regular international travel
• Available to start ASAP
