Male Nanny
A warm, adventurous and highly involved family is seeking an experienced nanny for a genuinely unique long-term role.
The family is looking for somebody who wants to become a true part of family life and build a lasting relationship with three energetic, funny and outdoorsy boys. Their current nanny has been with them for 4.5 years and remains hugely important to the family, and they hope to find somebody equally significant as the children grow up.
The role is based between West London during term time and the family’s beautiful home on the West Coast of Scotland during school holidays, offering a rare balance of structured London family life alongside huge amounts of outdoor adventure, travel and variety.
The family has three boys aged 7, 5 and 3.
The eldest is thoughtful, imaginative and loves history, Lego, reading and elaborate games. He thrives on routine and is particularly strong academically in maths. The middle child is sociable, funny and endlessly curious, happiest around people, practical activities and adventure. He loves cooking, music and helping on the family farm in Scotland. The youngest is affectionate, robust and determined to keep up with his older brothers, with a brilliant sense of humour and a love of trains, balance bikes and joining in with the chaos.
Both parents work for themselves, mostly from home, and are extremely hands-on. They are warm, informal and family-oriented, and the nanny will work alongside involved parents rather than in place of them.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting the morning routine, including an early Lambrook bus drop-off from September.
- Nursery and school runs.
- Taking the children to clubs, swimming, activities and playdates.
- Organising fun outings and adventures during holidays.
- Preparing nutritious meals and packed lunches.
- Children’s laundry and organisation.
- Supporting routines, homework and after-school structure.
- Keeping children’s spaces tidy and organised.
- Managing children’s expenses and purchases when needed.
- Supporting birthday organisation and occasional errands/admin.
- Caring for the children when unwell, including medication where appropriate.
- Occasional babysitting and very occasional proxy parenting (typically 1–2 short trips per year).
During term time, the boys are at school and nursery for much of the day, allowing time for children-related organisation, cooking and household support. During holidays, the role becomes fuller and adventure-focused, generally around 8am–6pm with downtime during the day.
A huge part of this role is Scotland. The family spends almost all school holidays and half terms there and wants somebody who will genuinely enjoy this lifestyle. Days are spent on beaches, bike rides, boat trips, den building, picnics and outdoor adventures. The family farm has been in the family for generations and is constantly full of cousins, friends and children.
Travel is a significant part of the role throughout the year, including February, Easter, May, October, December and extended periods across the summer holidays. The family is flexible if a candidate prefers not to travel for the full summer period, although this would impact salary.
Accommodation is excellent in both locations. In London, the nanny will have a private floor with an en-suite bathroom and kitchenette. In Scotland, there is a private bedroom overlooking the sea, a private bathroom and separate sitting room with independent access. The family places huge importance on ensuring genuine privacy and downtime outside working hours.
The family is open-minded about structure for the right candidate and describes much of the role as flexible if they find somebody they truly click with. They are looking for somebody kind, emotionally intelligent, adventurous and proactive - somebody who loves children, enjoys the outdoors and wants to become part of a happy, dynamic and deeply loving household.
