Nanny
Sole charge of 4-year-old boy/girl twins and a 10-month-old baby
Hours: Monday to Friday, approximately 45 hours per week with some flexibility on start/finish times
About us
We are a Wimbledon-based family with three young children: boy/girl twins aged 4 and a 10-month-old baby. Both parents work in demanding professional roles and are looking for an experienced, confident nanny to take genuine sole charge of our children during the working week.
We are warm but private, modest in our home life despite our jobs, and we value calm, kindness, and competence over formality. We are looking for someone we can trust completely and build a long-term relationship with — ideally someone who would stay with us for several years as the children grow.
The role
By the time the role starts, the twins will be attending preschool for half-days. The day will involve solo charge of the baby during preschool hours, then all three children together from pickup through to the early evening.
A typical day will include:
Morning routine and preschool drop-off with the twins
Solo care of the baby through the morning — including naps, feeds, walks, playgroups, and age-appropriate activities
Preschool pickup and managing all three children through the afternoon and into the early evening
Meals, baths, and bedtime routines as part of the day's flow
Nursery duties — children's laundry, tidying their rooms, keeping their spaces organised, preparing their meals, and managing supplies (nappies, formula, clothes)
Liaison with preschool staff and any other relevant activities or appointments
This is a genuine sole-charge role. We work intensively and will not be available to direct the day. We need someone who can confidently run routines independently from day one.
About the children
The twins are bright, energetic, and starting preschool when the role begins. They are at an age where they need engagement, gentle structure, and a nanny who supports their development as individuals rather than treating them as a unit. The baby will be 10 months old at the start — mobile, weaning, and needing a calm, attentive caregiver through a key developmental phase.
Our approach
A few things that matter to us:
No screens. We do not use television, tablets, or phones as part of childcare. We are looking for someone genuinely engaged in active, screen-free care — outdoor play, crafts, sensory activities, music, baking, reading, outings, and playgroups.
Warmth with boundaries. We want our children to feel deeply cared for, but we are looking for a nanny who is part of the family rather than a parent substitute. Clear, confident, kind authority is what we need.
Politeness and kindness. We care about the children learning manners, kindness, and how to be considerate of others.
Outdoor time daily. Wimbledon Common and the local parks are part of our family's rhythm. We want someone who values fresh air and outdoor play regardless of the weather.
