A warm and welcoming family in Paddington is seeking a full-time junior nanny-housekeeper / mother’s help to care mainly for their little boy, aged 2 years and 6 months, and to help with the day-to-day running of their flat.

The mother is currently expecting a baby, due at the end of August 2026. The role may gradually include occasional support with the newborn, but the primary focus will remain on the toddler and general household support.

The family is looking for a nurturing, energetic and collaborative nanny-housekeeper with good English. Italian and/or German would be a plus, but this is not required.

8:00am to 6:00pm
50 hours per week

Occasional babysitting and occasional weekend work may be required and will be paid extra.

Salary
£42,000 gross per year

Equivalent:
£16.15 gross per hour
£807.69 gross per week

Annual performance and salary review.

Role Overview
This is a mixed nanny-housekeeper / mother’s help role.

The main priority will be caring for the toddler, supporting his daily routine, development, meals, activities and wellbeing.

The role will also include housekeeping duties to help maintain the family’s flat. The family lives in a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom flat with an open-plan kitchen and living area.

From the end of August 2026, the mother will be at home with the newborn and intends to care for the baby herself. The nanny-housekeeper may occasionally assist with basic newborn support when needed.

The toddler may start nursery from September 2026 for a few days per week, which may allow more time for housekeeping duties.

Main Responsibilities
Nanny Duties
Provide safe and attentive care at all times.
Support the toddler’s daily routine.
Plan age-appropriate activities.
Encourage language, motor skills and independence.
Organise play, storytelling, music and creative activities.
Take the child to playdates, classes, grandparent visits and outdoor activities.
Support meals, naps, bath and bedtime routine.
Prepare and cook healthy meals for the child.
Feed the child when needed.
Keep track of meals, naps and milestones.
Keep parents updated during the day.
Support occasional shopping for the child’s needs.
Travel occasionally with the family if required.

Newborn Duties
Occasionally assist the mother with basic newborn care.
Support with changing when needed.
Support with nap routines when required.
Help keep newborn items clean and organised.
Maintain a calm and safe environment.
Work collaboratively with the mother.

Housekeeping Responsibilities
Organise, tidy and clean the family’s flat.
Keep the kitchen clean and sanitised.
Keep the living areas clean and tidy.
Do the family laundry, with the mother’s support.
Iron clothes as required.
Change bed linens and towels weekly.
Vacuum the flat.
Mop floors.
Dust throughout the flat.
Clean and maintain the bathrooms.
Take bins out as needed.
Unpack groceries.
Support with basic household organisation.
Prepare occasional simple meals.

Requirements
Previous childcare experience with toddlers.
Some newborn experience would be a plus.
Good English.
Italian and/or German would be a plus, but not required.
Confident with housekeeping duties.
Nurturing, energetic and reliable.
Able to work collaboratively with parents.
Comfortable working in a mother’s help role.
Enhanced DBS check, up to date.
Paediatric First Aid certification, up to date.
Long-term availability.
Willingness to travel occasionally would be a plus.
