Job Summary:
Live-in Nanny required for a private family based in Cascais, Portugal, caring for two young children aged 15 months and 2½ years old within a warm and structured household. This is a permanent position offering €5,000 gross per month, with a Tuesday to Saturday schedule and live-in accommodation provided.

The role involves full childcare responsibilities, including supporting daily routines, managing morning schedules, preparing for the day, and providing attentive care throughout the week. The nanny will be responsible for creating a calm, nurturing, and developmentally focused environment tailored to both a toddler and a young child.

During school/nursery hours, the nanny will use this time to plan to engage, age-appropriate activities, organise the children’s routines and belongings, and assist with children’s-related errands such as shopping and preparation. The role includes supporting developmental milestones, encouraging learning through play, and promoting a structured and stimulating daily routine.

Working hours are Tuesday to Friday from 7am to 8pm (with a break during nursery/school hours), and Saturdays from 7am to 8pm.

The ideal candidate will be experienced with toddlers and young children, proactive, highly organised, and confident managing two young children in a busy but supportive household. A calm, nurturing, and developmentally focused approach is essential, along with the ability to work independently and build a strong long-term relationship with the family.

Job specification:

Full care of two young children, ensuring safety, wellbeing, and emotional support
Managing daily routines including morning preparation, meals, naps, and bedtime
Supporting developmental milestones through structured, age-appropriate activities
Planning educational, creative, and outdoor play activities
Nursery/school preparation and support as needed
Organising children’s belongings, laundry, and daily essentials
Shopping and preparation for children’s needs during downtime
Maintaining a calm, structured, and nurturing environment
Working closely with parents to ensure consistency in routines and approach


Candidate specification:
Experienced nanny with strong toddler and early years background
Confident caring for multiple young children simultaneously
Warm, calm, and nurturing personality
Highly organised, proactive, and able to work independently
Strong understanding of early childhood development
Ability to plan engaging, educational, and creative activities
Experience in structured private households preferred
Flexible, reliable, and committed to a long-term role
Strong communication skills and team player within the family unit
Ideally experienced in live-in or rota roles
Fluent English required (additional languages a bonus)
