Part Time Nanny
We are looking for a part time (30 hours per week), live out, sole charge nanny for our little girl (2.5 years old). Working hours: 30 hours per week. Tues and Thurs are a must, at least 8am to 6pm. The family and nanny will agree on how to distribute the remaining 10 hours per week.
The little girl is a sweet, happy, curious and active child. Sole charge care will primarily be with her. She will go to nursery from June on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday but hours of attendance are flexible (likely approximately 9am-3pm).
We are expecting a second baby due in October 2026. Mum will be on maternity leave for a period with the baby. However, this is not a shared care role. There is a separate area of the home where mum will be with the baby while the 2.5 year old girl is at home with the nanny. When the little girl is at nursery, any care of the baby by the nanny will be on a sole charge basis. While mum is on maternity leave, the nanny will only have sole charge of one child at a time.
We are looking for a warm, nurturing, attentive, positive, proactive, reliable, responsible, and organised nanny. The ideal candidate will have good interpersonal and communication skills and want to be a key part of the family (e.g. we are in still regularly in touch with our previous nanny) and like to plan ahead. Experience with under 3s and newborns preferred.
Both parents are working busy professionals with very demanding jobs that require commuting and reliability from a nanny is essential.
We have two very Dachshunds who are much-loved family members. A nanny who loves dogs is essential.
All the usual nursery duties (laundry, upkeep of the playroom and toys, meal preparation for the child, etc) are required including attending toddler classes, groups and/or activities, visiting the park, woods, local farm, library etc and creating a stimulating and engaging home environment to promote development.
Holiday travel is not essential; however, there is the possibility of accompaniment on family vacations in typical locations in Europe and the UK if the nanny desires.
We also employ a weekly cleaner, a daily dog walker and a bi-weekly gardener.
The successful candidate will be offered 28 days of annual leave a year which includes UK bank holidays on a pro-rata basis.
