House Manager / Nanny Role

An incredible opportunity has arisen to support this welcoming, country-loving family managing their historic property near Coleshill and caring for their two sweet girls, aged 3 and 5 throughout the week.

The ideal candidate will have lots of positive energy and confidence in themselves to take initiative within the role. Looking after small children, the role can be physical at times, so reasonable physical fitness is required.

They will need to be a good communicator and work well alongside existing estate staff and their cleaner during her bi-weekly visits.

They will be a front of house representative for visitors so must be reliable and professional at all times.

House manager duties
The applicant should ideally have experience in managing large properties and will work with the homeowners on regular property checks.

They will oversee general household systems and coordinate service providers for regular maintenance works (e.g. heating systems, window cleaning and chimney sweeping). They will manage stock levels for household supplies and cleaning products. Household laundry and ironing. Light gardening, eg. vegetable picking.

Alongside the Employer, they will be an emergency contact for a small secondary cottage (a short term let on site).

Being well organised and planning ahead will be key to support this client with ad-hoc events and tours, such as maintaining the formal rooms. Attention to detail and special care is important, when cleaning and looking after delicate artifacts within the home.

Childcare responsibilities
Duties will include wake-up and bedtime routine, school pick up/drop offs, playtime and trips when the youngest child is not at nursery (2 half days p/w), meal planning and light cooking, packing/unpacking the girls’ bags for trips, organising the girls’ clothes and toys and managing their school calendar.

The school holidays (15-17 weeks p/a) will be more childcare focused, however additional support will be arranged by the Employer so household maintenance jobs are managed. A proactive approach is required, to plan age-appropriate learning tools and holiday activities ahead of time.

There might be the opportunity to travel with the family during their holidays in the UK and abroad, albeit the family will, for the most part, not require Employee to accompany them during their time away with the children.
