Nanny
Are you a nanny with experience caring for babies aged from five months old? Are you seeking a role with opportunities for growth and professional development? A welcoming and kind family seeks a reliable and experienced nanny with calm energy to provide attentive, developmentally appropriate care for a baby born in December 2025. A nanny who will provide nurturing care, encouraging the child to be resilient, teach them life skills, and promote independence. Someone who genuinely wants to enrich the child's life.

Initially, your role will be as a nanny. Within your first year, it's likely the child will start daycare for a few half days per week. During this time, the family would appreciate a nanny happy to take on some family assistant or household manager duties.

The family is likely to live in a temporary apartment in the Pijp initially and will move to a permanent home, most likely in the Oud Zuid area, later in the year.

They might need proxy parenting once a quarter.
Start Date: Strong preference for May 2026, for the right candidate, can wait until mid June.
Commitment: 9 - 12 months, then we will reassess with the nanny regarding how both parties wish to proceed.

Passport and visa requirements: An EU passport or Dutch residence permit is required.

Responsibilities and duties:
Provide loving, nurturing, and attentive care to the baby throughout the day and support encouraging age-appropriate developmental milestones
Assist in encouraging good sleep habits; the family is keen to have a flexible routine for the baby
When the baby is ready for weaning, grocery shop, prepare, and batch cook healthy baby meals
Take the baby for walks daily, engage them in sensory play, reading, and singing. As they grow, introduce age-appropriate outings, classes, and activities
Maintain a tidy, organized nursery and family space. Leave the house tidy and organised at the end of the day
Attend to all nursery duties
Collaborate with parents, communicate openly, and offer professional input and ideas while respecting and following the parents' decisions. They would appreciate having a nanny happy to share ideas, their knowledge, and experience
Initially, the role will be shared care, the Mum will return to work in June 2026, and the role will become sole charge.

Experience, qualifications, approach, and skills:
You need to speak a high level of English; it's a plus if you also speak Dutch (not a requirement)
Candidates need a minimum of 4 years of childcare experience, ideally more
You must have previously worked as a nanny and cared for babies of the same age
A nanny knowledgeable regarding caring for babies, someone familiar with guiding the child into good sleep habits, weaning, potty training, first aid, etc
Confident caring for babies who are breast and bottle fed
It's ideal if you have childcare qualifications (not a requirement)
Someone with strong communication skills who is happy to update the parents throughout the day.

Additional Details:
It's a plus if you are open to travelling with the family (not a requirement)
In the long-term future, the family may get a dog, so a pet-friendly nanny is needed
The Dad will work from home a few days a week. The Mum might work from home on Fridays (they plan to have a home office space)
The parents are keen to find someone who would like to build a strong relationship with the family
They will have a regular cleaner
This is a live-out role; accommodation isn't provided. You need to be currently living in the Netherlands or have confirmed plans to relocate to be considered.
It's a plus if you are happy to cycle the bakfiets or mamafiets
Initial interviews will be from now onwards via Zoom. Successful interviewees will attend paid trial days between 25th April and 5th May (dates are tbd)
The family will arrange employment.
