Nanny
Sole charge organised professional nanny/family assistant is needed for three children aged 8 (when job starts), 6, and 3.

Ideal candidates are proactive, confident, and have a calm nature.

Someone who is caring, friendly, flexible, and has a high level of communication will be a good fit. Someone extremely reliable, with an educational approach (happy to also help with homework), who can adapt to working with different ages. The family favors positive parenting and follows a routine with the children. Both parents work full-time so the nanny will have lots of autonomy and needs to be confident taking charge. Candidates need to be confident in caring for all three children by themselves. A nanny who is confident in setting and holding boundaries is needed, someone who is proactive and full of energy.

The family lives in the Jordaan area, a short walk from Amsterdam Central Station and the Rokin metro station.

The children speak French, English, and Dutch; they are seeking a nanny who speaks any of those languages.

The role is live out; however, if you are relocating, the family is happy for you to stay with them on a short-term basis. The accommodation is a bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and a private entrance in the family home. You will share the kitchen with the family.

You will be responsible for all standard nursery duties, family admin, errands, tidying up after the children, organising deliveries, and shopping for the children. They have another staff member who will do the food shopping and cooking for the children (occasionally, you may need to cook for the children).

You will be working approximately 34 hours per week (they are happy to offer 35 hours). In general your schedule will be:
Monday - 1 - 7 pm
Tuesday 1 - 7 pm
Wednesday 9 - 7 pm
Thursday - 1 - 7 pm
Friday - 1 - 7 pm.

They would appreciate extra hours during the school holidays.

The children attend an international school, and you will pick them up by tram. After school will involve picking up the children, spending time with them, giving them dinner, and bathing them. On Wednesdays, the children will have to attend after-school activities. The children are active, enjoy sports, board games and baking.

It’s a preference if you drive (not a requirement). School pick up can be done via tram.

They are seeking a nanny until the end of July 2027; they may wish to extend if both parties are happy.

The family may ask if you are happy to travel with them once or twice a year (you will have your own room). It’s not a requirement to travel.

Interviews and paid trial/test days are starting immediately, to confirm the placement and handover days completed ideally by the end of July.

To be considered, the vital requirements are:
* EU passport or Dutch residence permit
* Three years of childcare experience, including working as a nanny
* Valid pediatric first aid
* A recent police check or DBS, and the DBS update system
* Minimum of 3 verbal and 3 exemplary written references.
