A short-term maternity nurse role in Norwich supporting a second-time family with feeding, early guidance and routine development across two key stages.


Job Summary
This is a supportive role suited to an experienced maternity nurse who can provide calm, knowledgeable guidance, particularly around feeding and early routine. A relaxed and welcoming family in Norwich are expecting their second baby and are seeking an experienced Maternity Nurse to support them across two key stages in the early weeks.

The first week will begin straight from hospital, where the focus will be on establishing feeding and ensuring a positive start. Mum is keen to breastfeed and would value experienced, practical guidance, particularly as she experienced challenges with milk supply and intolerance with her first baby. The maternity nurse will return for a second week at around week four, supporting the family in introducing a gentle routine and helping build confidence as they settle into life with their newborn. This role will suit someone warm and collaborative who works alongside parents, offering reassurance, guidance and hands-on support in a calm and natural way.

Job Specification
• Supporting breastfeeding and early feeding establishment
• Providing guidance following discharge from hospital
• Assisting with settling and early newborn care
• Supporting the introduction of a gentle routine at 4 weeks
• Offering reassurance and practical advice to the parents
• Managing nursery duties

Candidate Specification
• Experienced maternity nurse with strong breastfeeding knowledge
• Calm, warm and reassuring in approach
• Confident supporting feeding challenges

• Able to provide both immediate and follow-on support
