Permanent Daily Nanny / Nanny-Governess – NW London (Golders Hill Park, NW3)

Term-Time Afternoons + Full-Time Holidays | £40,000–£60,000 gross (DOE & structure)

A professional family based near Golders Hill Park (NW3) is seeking an experienced, development-focused nanny or nanny-governess to care for their 2.5-year-old son in a long-term role. The home is approximately a 10-minute walk from Golders Green station, and parking is available directly outside for candidates who prefer to drive.
The child attends nursery full-time during term time and is bright, curious and energetic. He enjoys books, structured play and outdoor exploration.
Both parents are highly educated and place a strong emphasis on early years development, education and structured learning, alongside a warm and nurturing environment.

About the Role
This is a flexible, annualised position designed around term-time and school holidays, with the opportunity to expand into a fuller role depending on the candidate’s interests and experience.
Core Schedule:
Term Time
• Monday–Friday: four days 2:00pm–7:00pm (after-school care), one day 8am - 6pm
School Holidays (when the family is not travelling)
• Monday–Friday: full-time (approx. 8:00am–6:00pm)
Additional Expectations:
• Sick-day cover (full-day care when the child is unwell)
• Weekend availability preferred (scheduled in advance)

Responsibilities
• Sole-charge care and management of daily routines
• Nursery pick-up and safe transportation to home and activities
• Planning and implementing age-appropriate, development-focused activities
• Supporting early learning, including language, numeracy and school readiness
• Encouraging emotional development, independence and positive behaviour
• Organising playdates and outings, including outdoor activities
• Preparing healthy meals and supporting mealtime routines
• Maintaining the child’s areas (bedroom, play areas, wardrobe)
• Providing clear and consistent communication with parents regarding development and daily activities

The family is open to extending the role to up to approx. 50 hours per week year-round for the right candidate, particularly if the nanny is interested in taking on additional responsibilities such as:
• Early years educational support / governess-style input
• Supporting school readiness (including 4+ preparation over time)
• Light household support related to the family

Salary & Start Date
• £40,000 – £60,000 gross per annum, depending on experience and agreed structure
(including whether weekend work and additional responsibilities are incorporated)
• Start date: ASAP, or by September 2026 at the latest

Candidate Requirements
Essential:
• Confident driver with a clean UK driving licence
• Experience with children of a similar age
• Demonstrated longevity in previous private family roles
• Strong, clear and accurate use of spoken English
• Warm, organised, proactive and reliable
Preferred:
• Familiarity with early years curriculum / school readiness
• Experience in a nanny-governess or development-focused role
