Position: Full-Time, Live-In 
Salary: £5,000–£7,000 per month, tax-free (negotiable depending on experience) 
Schedule: 6 days per week with 1 full day off 
 
Overview 
A high-net-worth international family is seeking an experienced, professional, and compassionate Live-In Governess to support the development and education of their 5½-year-old son. The role will be based between the family’s homes in London, Mumbai and Dubai (only when safe to travel) and will involve regular international travel.
 
The child attends school during the week and has been diagnosed with ADHD and sensory regulation challenges. The family is looking for a patient, proactive, and highly skilled candidate who can provide educational guidance, structured support, and developmental encouragement in collaboration with the child’s school and specialists.
 
Experience supporting children with additional needs—particularly ADHD, sensory processing challenges, or similar profiles—is essential. Experience or training in speech therapy techniques or occupational therapy (OT) approaches would be highly advantageous.
 
Key Responsibilities
- Provide educational support aligned with the child’s school curriculum. 
- Assist with homework, school projects, and learning reinforcement. 
- Implement structured routines and positive behavioural strategies appropriate for ADHD. 
- Support sensory regulation and emotional development using appropriate techniques. 
- Work collaboratively with therapists, teachers, and parents to ensure consistency in approach. 
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive social skills. 
- Plan and organise educational, creative, and developmental activities. 
- Support language, communication, and social development. 
- Accompany the family on international travel and ensure continuity of routine and learning. 
- Provide general guidance in manners, organisation, and age-appropriate responsibilities.
 
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience as a governess, teacher, or private tutor within private households or educational settings. 
- Experience supporting children with ADHD and/or sensory processing needs. 
- Training or practical experience in speech therapy strategies or occupational therapy approaches is highly desirable. 
- Degree in Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a related field preferred. 
- Patient, calm, nurturing, and highly organised. 
- Able to provide structured support while maintaining a warm and engaging approach. 
- Fluent English is essential. 
- Hindi language skills would be beneficial but are not required. 
- Discreet, professional, and comfortable working in a high-net-worth household. 
- Willing and able to travel internationally with the family.
