Holgate Nannies is seeking a proactive nanny, passionate about childcare. The ideal candidate is a confident driver, happy to work in a busy household and excited to travel.

Typically, two adults (either two nannies or Mum and a nanny) are on duty with the children, but occasionally, you’ll care for them alone, so confidence with sole charge is essential. A collaborative approach is vital as you will work in a team to care for the children, shop, cook healthy meals, and walk the dog. The children attend school, daycare, and activities, so they aren’t all home full-time.

There’s freedom in the role. The parents are looking for a nanny who can contribute ideas, especially for fun and educational activities.

The family is seeking a nanny happy to travel during every school holiday and for six weeks in summer. Summer vacation is spent in the South of France, so swimming ability is essential. You'll have your own room when traveling.

The current nanny has been with the family for three years, and the part-time nanny has worked with them since the eldest was born. The family is looking for a long-term commitment, ideally for three or more years. The initial contract is 12 months, with the possibility of extension.

Guaranteed 40 hours. The below schedule is less than 40 hours, extra hours would be agreed with the Mum in consultation with the nanny.

Tuesday: 12/1pm - 7pm
Wednesday: 12/1pm - 7pm
Thursday: 12/1pm - 7pm
Friday: 12/1pm - 7pm
Saturday: 12 or 2:30pm - 7pm
Sunday & Monday: Off

The family is flexible with hours, though they may occasionally need more or require proxy parenting. When traveling, the schedule will vary, but they aim to provide time off before or after.

Start date: Ideally February for a handover with the current nanny. They can wait for the right candidate.
Candidates must have an EU passport.

Responsibilities:
Nurture and care for the children
Maintain routines (naps, school, activities)
Help with meal prep (simple, healthy)
Tidying up after children and yourself
Support developmental milestones and good manners
Drive children to activities
Occasional laundry help
Communicate with parents and team

Experience & Skills:
At least three years of childcare experience with children of similar ages
Experience with siblings is a plus
Adaptable and proactive, no previous nanny experience required
Balanced and firm in setting boundaries
Organized, reliable, punctual
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
High-level English required, Dutch is a bonus
Creative, loves exploring, and coming up with activities
Open to first-time travel nanny candidates

Vital Requirements:
Valid driver’s license
Flexibility with schedule

Additional Details:
Regular travel required, including all school holidays
The Dad works full-time; Mum works four days a week but is involved with school runs
The family has a dog
No iPads or TV for the children
Live-out role, but an apartment can be provided if relocating
Interviews and trials ASAP
The family will arrange employment

Agency Requirements:
3 years of full-time professional childcare experience
Valid pediatric first aid
Recent police check or DBS, and the DBS update system
Written references and at least 3 verbal references
