Salary/Wage: £15.53 weekdays | £16.56 weekends | £30.06 bank holidays (gross per hour)
Driving Requirements: Yes – manual licence required to drive a WAV on duty
Essential: Experience supporting a young person or adult with a learning disability. Good cooking skills. Female applicants only. Non-smoker/vaper
Desirable: Experience with non-verbal communication and visual communication aids

Days & Hours: 3 weekday evenings (to be agreed) 6.00pm–10.00pm, plus Sunday 8.00am–6.00pm

About the Client: Mary is a delightful 19-year-old with a wicked sense of humour, a cheeky grin, and a strong personality. She is non-verbal but communicates very clearly using gestures, facial expressions, pointing, picture card,s and some Makaton signs. Mary has a Learning Disability and enjoys an active, varied lifestyle with plenty of trips out, as well as relaxed time at home. She moves confidently around her home environment and is supported by a strong multidisciplinary team, including Behaviour Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy, with excellent training provided.
Overview of the Role: Mary requires support with all aspects of daily living, care routines and accessing the community. The focus of the role is enabling her to enjoy meaningful activities, respond to her preferences and support her communication in a respectful, empowering way. Support is provided on a 2:1 basis, both at home and in the community, following structured guidance from the MDT to promote consistency, independence and positive outcomes.

Position 2: Week 1 – Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 6.00pm–10.00pm. Week 2 – Wednesday and Saturday 6.00pm–10.00pm, plus Sunday 8.00am–6.00pm.
Position 3: Waking nights – Week 1 Monday 10.00pm–8.00am; Week 2 Saturday 10.00pm–8.00am, plus ad hoc cover.
Who This Job Would Suit: An experienced *female Support Worker, or someone with some experience supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities who is keen to develop their skills. You will be calm, patient, observant and confident using alternative communication methods, with a positive attitude and sense of humour.
