Part Time Nanny
This is a part-time, live-out nanny role of approximately 20 hours per week, taking sole charge of two children: a boy aged 8 and a girl aged 5, with the opportunity for additional hours during school holidays. The family is looking for a warm, proactive, and engaging nanny with experience caring for primary school-aged children, who has a genuine interest in child development and can support the children in reaching their full potential through fun, age-appropriate activities. The 5-year-old girl is very creative and “girly”, with a strong love for arts and crafts, imaginative play, and role play, while the 8-year-old boy is extremely active and sports-mad, and would benefit from a nanny who can help encourage and stimulate his interest in sports and physical activities. Both children enjoy learning and would benefit from support with reading, basic phonics, and homework.
School pick-ups are required, with the school approximately a 20-minute walk from the family home. A driver with their own car would be ideal but is not essential. The parents both work, with mum mainly working from home in a separate, tucked-away workspace, and the nanny will have sole charge of the children after school until the parents finish working. The family is very flexible around how the nanny structures her hours, and where appropriate, some duties such as cooking or preparation may be carried out in the nanny’s own home or at times that suit her, provided she is present for school pick-up and care of the children during the core after-school hours.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• School pick-ups and after-school care
• Preparing healthy, varied meals for the children and cleaning up afterwards
• Supporting reading, basic phonics, and homework
• Encouraging learning and development through fun, age-appropriate activities
• Arts and crafts, imaginative play, and role play with the younger child
• Sports, outdoor play, and physical activities with the older child
• Trips to parks, playgrounds, museums, and galleries
• Ensuring children’s play areas are tidy and organised
• Teaching kindness, good manners, and positive behaviour
• Child-related housekeeping duties, including children’s laundry, bedrooms, linen, and keeping the kitchen clean and tidy
• Occasional ad hoc household errands (dishwasher, post office, shops, etc.)
