Part Time Nanny
Summary
We are a warm, professional family seeking an experienced and thoughtful nanny to provide part-time care for our 9-year-old daughter. She is bright, imaginative, and sensitive — a child who thrives with structure, creativity, and gentle encouragement. The right candidate will bring calm confidence, strong boundaries, and a genuine interest in supporting her development as she prepares for the transition to secondary school.

About the Role
This position is part-time and sole charge, following a shared-care schedule between one household rota-style. Care is required every other week, Monday to Friday, for a few hours each afternoon. We are looking for a nanny who can offer stability, creating a warm, consistent environment where our daughter feels secure, understood, and inspired.
You will spend most of your time engaging her in meaningful, screen-free activities that foster imagination, curiosity, and social-emotional growth. You will also transport her to and from after-school activities and, ideally, you’ll also be able to offer gentle academic support or 11+ preparation, though this is not essential.

Key Responsibilities
Provide attentive after-school care and supervision in a calm, structured environment.
Plan enriching, age-appropriate activities that encourage creativity, confidence, and kindness.
Safe & timely transport to and from school and after-school clubs.
Support homework and reading; light 11+ preparation if appropriate.
Maintain communication and consistency between parents.
Light household duties related to the child, including tidying her room, organising clothes, and preparing dinner if a parent is not home.
Encourage healthy eating habits and patience around food, particularly with a selective eater.
Serve as a positive role model — demonstrating kindness, self-respect, and integrity.

About You
Experienced with school-age children, ideally within private households or educational settings.
Naturally warm, professional, and proactive.
Confident in setting boundaries with kindness and respect.
Organised, reliable, and communicative with both parents.
Creative and nurturing, with a genuine love for working with children.
(Bonus) Knowledge of 11+ preparation or familiarity with secondary school readiness.

Requirements
Minimum 5 years’ relevant childcare or nanny experience.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Excellent references.
Right to work in the UK.
Commitment to an alternating weekly rota schedule.
