About the role/family: SENNIES is proud to support a warm, dedicated family in search of an experienced and compassionate SEN nanny ("sennie") to care for their son, B11. This role focuses on creating a nurturing, structured environment that supports his emotional regulation, communication, independence, and sensory wellbeing. The family follows a multi-disciplinary approach and is looking for someone confident in working alongside therapists, medical professionals, and school staff to ensure consistent care across settings.

A key element of this role involves using a total communication approach—including AAC devices, iPad apps, and spelling—to support B11’s non-verbal communication. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in tandem with speech and language professionals to help develop his expressive skills and emotional literacy. B11 has sensory needs and can experience dysregulation, particularly around toileting and hunger. The Sennie must bring a calm, patient, and reassuring presence, maintain predictable routines, and offer safe, grounded support during emotional challenges. Daily duties include school pick-up, supporting self-care, and engaging B11 in meaningful indoor and outdoor activities such as swimming, skating, or time in the park. The role also involves light housekeeping, grocery shopping, and preparing healthy, gluten- and dairy-free meals in line with the family’s dietary guidelines. The family is seeking someone with a strong background in SEN, who is emotionally attuned, proactive, flexible, and deeply committed to B11’s development and wellbeing.
