About the Client: John (61) is a warm, witty gentleman with a great sense of humour. He enjoys sport, golf, dominos, backgammon, walks, and cheering on Leeds United. He lives at home with his wife and two grown-up children.
Following a road traffic collision, John sustained an Acquired Brain Injury. Previously an active businessman and half-marathon runner, he now requires 2:1 daytime support and follows a structured rehabilitation programme designed by an MDT including OT, Physio, and SALT.
John uses a stroller for local walks and a wheelchair for longer outings. Due to his ABI, he can experience fatigue, agitation, confusion, and reduced insight, yet he remains sociable, engaging, and often very humorous.

Role Overview: As part of John’s support team, you will promote his independence, dignity, and confidence, using a gentle, respectful, hands-off approach. Support includes prompts, visual cues, and calm communication—for example: “John, are you ready to come through for lunch?” which then guides him through the necessary steps of his routine.
His day is carefully structured to balance therapy, rest, and enjoyable activities while avoiding overstimulation. You will follow a detailed, bespoke support plan created by the MDT.
This is a rota-based position working three long shifts per week (11 or 13 hours), including some weekends. We are recruiting two Support Workers, each working three set days. Further details will be shared with shortlisted applicants.

This Job Would Suit: A confident, empathetic, intuitive *female Support Worker who can work independently while following professional guidance. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will liaise with the MDT and case management team. John enjoys conversation but can tire easily, so someone who can balance warmth with sensitivity will thrive in this role. Ideal for someone seeking a long-term, meaningful position and who truly wants to support rehabilitation progress.

Why You’ll Love This Role: You’ll be part of an established, supportive care team in a warm family home. Excellent training is provided, with ongoing MDT guidance to help you deliver the very best support. This is a chance to make a genuine, lasting difference in John’s recovery journey.

Recruitment Process: This vacancy is managed through Snap Care’s Shortlist Service. We will review all applications and verify essential criteria before forwarding suitable CVs to the client/case manager. By applying, you consent to your details being shared with our client.
Please note: If you have applied for this role previously and were not shortlisted, we are unable to progress a second application at this time.
We are unable to provide sponsorship for any of our vacancies.
Where gender is specified, this is a genuine occupational requirement under paragraph 1, Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.
