About Sam: Sam is an intuitive, funny, and warm 18-year-old with a great sense of humour and a love of music — “Proud Mary” is his current favourite, and he never misses a chance to get on the dance floor! Following an Acquired Brain Injury, Sam has Cerebral Palsy, learning needs, visual impairment, and well-managed epilepsy. He thrives on routine and benefits from knowing what’s happening now, as transitions can sometimes be tricky. Sam has made exceptional progress physically: regular gym sessions and a dedicated team have helped him build core strength, confidence, and independence. He enjoys the outdoors, swimming (sometimes 2:1), arts and crafts, socialising with friends, and adventurous residential trips. With the right guidance, Sam continues to grow both physically and socially.
Overview of the Role: This is an active, hands-on role supporting Sam throughout his daily life. You will assist with personal care, mobility, transfers, and gym-based activities. Encouraging Sam to participate in hobbies, community outings, and new experiences is key. Managing behaviour with creativity, humour, and gentle redirection will help Sam feel secure and engaged. You’ll play a vital role in developing his independence, communication, and confidence. During on-call nights, Sam sleeps well; he may occasionally call for support with his blanket, though he is becoming increasingly independent with this.
Who This Job Would Suit: A warm, upbeat, and emotionally intelligent support worker — either experienced or new to the sector with the right mindset. Someone consistent, patient, and creative, who can bring positivity and structure to Sam’s life. You’ll enjoy being active, encouraging physical, social, and recreational participation, and helping Sam access as much of life as possible.
Why You’ll Love This Job: You’ll join a friendly, skilled, and enthusiastic team who have already played a huge part in Sam’s progress. Excellent training is provided, and this is a role where your contribution directly supports Sam’s continued growth, confidence, and achievements.
Recruitment Process: Snap Care is managing the full recruitment process, including shortlisting, recruiter interviews, and arranging employer interviews. If you have previously applied and were not progressed, we are unable to consider a new application at this time.
