About the child/role: SENNIES is delighted to support a caring and considerate multiple neurodivergent family who are passionate about nurturing their children’s individual needs. Their home is warm, playful, and regulation-focused, with a long garden featuring a trampoline and swings for sensory play. Dad works hybridly, and Mum is available to assist as needed, creating a supportive and collaborative environment for the Sennie.
The role focuses on supporting their daughter, G12 both at home and on outings, helping her feel safe, connected, and understood through playful, attuned interactions. The Sennie will provide compassionate, child-led, and intentional support that fosters trust, autonomy, and emotional safety. They should be confident in planning and following through with activities, adapting to the child’s needs, and creating a balance of activities and flexibility throughout the day, while remaining attuned and maintaining a matched regulated state to foster connection while being sensitive to her physical, sensory, and emotional needs. A trauma-informed, child-led, and neuro-affirming approach is essential, emphasising co-regulation and responsiveness to her energy levels and nervous system state. Outings may include visits to engaging and stimulating spaces such as cafés, animal centres, or play parks, combining fun with opportunities for up-regulatory activities, movement, and shared enjoyment. The Sennie should be physically active, comfortable engaging in playful activities, and able to match the child’s energy in an attuned and supportive way. At home, the Sennie will create nurturing and imaginative experiences that encourage engagement, curiosity, self-advocacy, and interoception awareness.
