Head Housekeeper – Stamford, Lincolnshire

Salary: £38,000

Full-Time 40hours per week | Start Date: January 2026 | Live in or Live out

We are looking for a Head Housekeeper to take charge of the daily care and smooth running of a beautiful, large period family home just outside Stamford. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone with proven housekeeping experience in high-end or historic properties who takes pride in their work and has an eye for detail.

You will lead the household’s cleaning and organisational routines, supervising one additional Housekeeper to ensure the home is maintained to the highest standard at all times. As this is a period property filled with antiques, fine fabrics, and delicate finishes, you must have a strong knowledge of specialist cleaning techniques and the appropriate care of valuable items.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Leading on all housekeeping duties while managing and supporting another Housekeeper. There may be occasions where you will be expected to train the deputy house keeper
Establishing cleaning schedules and ensuring all routines are carried out efficiently and thoroughly
Taking responsibility for household supplies, stock levels, and utility management
Liaising with contractors and tradespeople, reporting any repairs or maintenance needs promptly
Caring for delicate items such as antique furniture, chandeliers, and artwork frames
Looking after household pets (we have one small dog) as needed and running occasional errands. Needs to be comfortable around pets and animals
Assisting with guest and event preparation, including setting up spaces for visitors
Keeping outdoor living areas tidy, including terraces, furniture, and pathways
About You:

Extensive experience in housekeeping roles within large or historic homes
Knowledge of caring for antiques, fine furnishings, and specialist materials
Organised, proactive, and able to work to the highest standards with discretion
Capable of supervising staff and managing tasks independently
Cooking experience would be beneficial
Additional Details:

Working Hours: Monday–Friday with flexibility to assist on weekends when required
Accommodation: Live-out preferred; live-in considered for the ideal candidate
