Nanny (Special needs)
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and knowledgeable SEN Nanny to join our family and support our delightful 8-year-old daughter who has ASD, ADHD, and Global Developmental Delay.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our daughter's life, providing not only care but also facilitating her learning, development, and engagement with the world around her. You will need to have a strong understanding of her conditions and the patience to create an environment where she feels safe, understood, and capable.

Responsibilities Include

1. Implementing daily routines and activities designed to encourage intellectual and social growth, such as play therapy, reading, outdoor play, and craft activities.
2. Coordinating with therapists, educators, and healthcare professionals to implement individualized education and care plans.
3. Assisting with personal care needs, including feeding, toileting, and bathing.
4. Observing and documenting the child's behaviors and progress, communicating updates to parents and relevant professionals regularly.
5. Administering medications as needed, under the guidance of healthcare professionals.
6. Using adaptive teaching tools and strategies to aid in communication and learning.
7. Assisting in developing coping strategies and behavioral management techniques for the child.
8. Attending appointments, therapy sessions, and social events with the child, providing support as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

1. Minimum 5 years of experience as an SEN Nanny or similar roles. Experience working with children with ASD, ADHD, and Global Developmental Delay is highly preferred.
2. Excellent understanding of child development and the specific needs of children with ASD, ADHD, and Global Developmental Delay.
3. Proficient in implementing behavioral modification strategies and special education techniques.
4. Experience with PECS, Makaton, or similar communication systems is beneficial.
5. Patience, resilience, and a positive, compassionate attitude.
6. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with parents and other caregivers.
7. Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect family privacy.
8. A clean driver's license.
9. First aid certified and trained in CPR.
