Live out Nanny / Learning support assistant

Hours: 8.30 to 6.30 Monday-Friday with some flexibility
Salary: £20 gross an hour
£52,000 depending on experience

This role entails working as part of our wider support team to teach and care for our teenage son. Our son has cerebral palsy and is a wheelchair user. As his learning support assistant, you would work closely alongside his other learning support assistant / carer, both at school and home, following a ‘hybrid learning’ system.

Our son has a number of subject specific tutors as well as attending school for one subject at present. The rest of the subjects are taught from home. You would be expected to work alongside and as part of a team, creating and teaching stimulating lessons in the home setting. GCSE’s are fast approaching and being able to teach Maths and Science is essential.

Additionally, you will be required to help aid our son’s movement by supporting his physiotherapy routine as well as providing personal care. Lessons will need to be adapted and made accessible on the computer for independent learning, hence being IT literate is essential. All relevant training will be provided.

As a family we enjoy international travel and would like for you to travel with us specially during summer. When not abroad, you will be expected to plan fun and engaging activities for our children as well as facilitating social interaction with their friends.

At times you will also help our daughter with her studies, she is soft spoken, quiet and currently in Year 10.

Our son is a gentle soul who is History, Football and FIFA mad. He can sometimes display emotional behaviours, and therefore it is important that those who work with him are able to help him manage these emotions. You will work extremely closely with our son and must have a genuine passion for working with children and aiding their development, in this case physically, emotionally and academically.
