10/06/2021 Parent
Nanny
We are a small family living in Long Hanborough.

We have one daughter that is 2.5 years old and will be 3 by the end of 2021. We are expecting our second child to be born at the end of December 2021. (So the kids will be 3 years apart)

The role will start in January 2022. But if you'd like to start earlier ( from September 2021) we can do that.

The tasks from the job are below:

Newborn and toddler care
- Feed the newborn with express milk on a schedule (if the mother is unavailable to breastfeed)
- Change newborn nappies on a schedule
- Help the newborn nap according to her sleep routine

Toddler care (this will be after nursery during school term and general care during school holidays)
- Feed the toddler one afternoon snack after nursery [or lunch and a snack during school holidays] (The mother usually preps this meal)
- Changing and dressing toddler
- Help the toddler nap once a day during school holidays (probably whilst the newborn naps)

General duties
- Normal nursery duties (such as tidying up after play)
- Help keep the family home tidy (we have weekly housekeeper and you’re not asked to do cleaning. We only ask that if a mess is made during play or cooking, you help tidy it up)

Play and Child development
- Discover and take the newborn to age appropriate classes that he/she will enjoy
- Be super organised and be able to keep on top of children's schedule
- Take the newborn or both children outdoors to play
- Be creative and have activity ideas for indoor play
- Do fun activities such as reading, puzzles, artwork (anything that improves their communication or motor skills)
- Cooking and baking (the toddler loves to bake in the afternoon)

Communicate with the child:
- Communicate with the child as often as you can in a polite and helpful tone
- Encourage good manners and behaviour (we do this but it’s helpful for carers to have the same ethos)
- Take an interest in their child to find out what they’re passionate about or curious to learn. Think of activities or books that are aligned with their curiosity or passion.
