We have a wonderful family in Sevenoaks who are looking for a Saturday Sennie, to take care of B6. This would involve organising and taking B6 to fun, stimulating activities, to allow mum to spend some quality time with siblings G14 andG10 (who is also currently undergoing SEN assessments).
B6 is a vibrant, cheeky, active young boy, who loves running, football, imaginative play, trampolining, nerf guns, trucks and Minecraft!
B6 has a diagnosis of Autism, Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) PANDAS and Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD). At times, often through frustration, B6 may display challenging behaviours. This wonderful family are supporting B6 to manage his outbursts, better understand his triggers and help him to regulate his emotions. Encouraging positive behaviour and using positive language is key whilst also giving B6 suitable options where possible. We are looking for a calm, kind, yet engaging Sennie, who has ASD experience and understands the importance of language towards a child with PDA.
We hope the chosen Sennie can help B6 find a fun Saturday routine that can be carried out safely during lockdown. and continue to support his hobbies when they recommence.
As G10 is also undergoing an Autism assessment, there may be times where you are asked to care for G10 whilst Mum spends Saturday with B6. You will have the opportunity to spend time at home with both children before being asked to take them out alone.
This family is looking for a proactive, bubbly and passionate SEN childcarer who can provide fantastic support for both children. The Sennie selected will be able to follow and support therapies and interventions determined by the family and professionals. A genuine interest in working with SEN children is a must.
Whilst having your own car is not essential, it is a real bonus as their house is hard to reach via public transport alone. You can have use of the family car, if required, to drive the children around however having your own car will mean the family do not have to collect you from the station.
