{"id":267,"date":"2020-02-01T08:44:05","date_gmt":"2020-02-01T08:44:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nannyjob.co.uk\/blog\/?p=267"},"modified":"2020-02-01T08:44:05","modified_gmt":"2020-02-01T08:44:05","slug":"nursery-jobs-are-you-cut-out-for-one","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nannyjob.co.uk\/blog\/nursery-jobs-are-you-cut-out-for-one\/","title":{"rendered":"Nursery Jobs: Are You Cut Out for One?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nursery jobs are, by some, considered to be unskilled jobs that anybody can do \u2013 this is not the case.\u00a0 Nursery jobs come with plenty of challenges, and not everybody is cut out for working in a childcare setting.\u00a0 Fun they may be, but nursery jobs are no easy option!<\/p>\n<p>However, the rewards of nursery jobs are many, and if you are the kind of person who can adapt to nursery life, a nursery job might well be the perfect career option for you.<\/p>\n<p>So, how do you know if you are cut out for one of the many nursery jobs that are available?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Do you like children?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This may be devastatingly obvious, but it\u2019s an important point nonetheless \u2013 in order to be able to hack the daily hustle and bustle of a nursery, you will need to have some kind of passion for children and early years education.\u00a0 With office jobs and the like, it\u2019s not the end of the world if you don\u2019t like your job much, as long as you can fulfil your tasks \u2013 with nursery jobs, enjoying your work (most of the time) is important.\u00a0 After all, you\u2019re dealing with little people every single day \u2013 little people who will need to be connected with you and who need you to have their best interests at heart.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Can you tolerate noise and chaos?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Good nurseries tend to be well-organised and run to a schedule.\u00a0 In any facility where there are a lot of people in one place that need caring for, some kind of schedule is necessary.\u00a0 However, children being children, things won\u2019t always go to plan.\u00a0 There will be moments that the nursery will be a chaotic environment, and you can guarantee that it will be noisy nearly all of the time.\u00a0 Not everybody can tolerate such a busy and noisy environment, and nursery jobs require that you are able to stay calm and in control even if all hell is breaking loose.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Are you patient?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We all lose our temper sometimes, and you don\u2019t have to be endlessly patient to be a great nursery worker.\u00a0 However, you need to be able to be patient with the children \u2013 shouting at them is never okay.\u00a0 We all have limits and that isn\u2019t a bad thing, but you need to be self-aware enough to realise when you are approaching your limit so you can remove yourself from stressful situations before they escalate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Do you have a sense of fun?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you don\u2019t enjoy playing and being silly, you certainly won\u2019t enjoy working in a nursery.\u00a0 Of course, there are plenty of other duties besides playing to undertake in nursery jobs, but playing is certainly one of the most important.\u00a0 Small children learn through play, so being able to engage them in stimulating, creative activities is vital.\u00a0 Having a sense of fun and a good imagination is important, as is not being afraid to make animal noises and dress up like a princess or a superhero in the presence of lots of children (and probably a few adults, too).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nannyjob.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/gautam-arora-ftV8LhXeOic-unsplash.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2593\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nannyjob.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/gautam-arora-ftV8LhXeOic-unsplash-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nannyjob.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/gautam-arora-ftV8LhXeOic-unsplash-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.nannyjob.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/gautam-arora-ftV8LhXeOic-unsplash-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.nannyjob.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/gautam-arora-ftV8LhXeOic-unsplash-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.nannyjob.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/gautam-arora-ftV8LhXeOic-unsplash-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.nannyjob.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/gautam-arora-ftV8LhXeOic-unsplash-2048x1536.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 1362px) 62vw, 840px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nursery jobs are, by some, considered to be unskilled jobs that anybody can do this is not the case.&#49824; Nursery jobs come with plenty of challenges, and not everybody is cut out for working in a childcare setting.&#49824; Fun they may be, but nursery jobs are no easy option!
