{"id":2517,"date":"2019-09-03T11:44:58","date_gmt":"2019-09-03T11:44:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nannyjob.co.uk\/blog\/?p=2517"},"modified":"2019-09-03T11:44:58","modified_gmt":"2019-09-03T11:44:58","slug":"shpp-shared-parental-leave","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nannyjob.co.uk\/blog\/shpp-shared-parental-leave\/","title":{"rendered":"(ShPP) Shared Parental Leave"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Expectant parents can now share the 52 weeks of statutory maternity leave after the birth or adoption of their child.<\/p>\n<p>\u200b\u200bThis leave and statutory pay can be split between them either one after the other or both can be on leave at the same time.<\/p>\n<p>\u200b\u200bExpectant parents need to give each of\u00a0their employers an indicative breakdown of the leave they plan to take at least 8 weeks before it starts. They are then able to change their minds twice during the year of leave and put forward new proposals.<\/p>\n<p>\u200b\u200bThis is paid at the same rate of SMP and is based on the salary of the parent taking the leave.<\/p>\n<p>\u200b\u200bTo be eligible both parents must share responsibility for the child at birth. and they must meet the work and pay criteria, i.e. have been employed continuously by the same employer for at least 26 weeks by the end of the 15th week before the due date, still be employed by the same employer while they take the leave and earn on average at least \u00a3118.00 gross per week<\/p>\n<p>\u200bNotice periods are built in to the scheme so employers can make plans for the nanny\u2019s intentions for leave.<\/p>\n<p>Employers cannot refuse to grant any leave entitled, however they can refuse requests for separate non continuous blocks of leave and insist that all leave requested is taken in one block.<\/p>\n<p>\u200b\u200b<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nannyjob.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/nannyjob.co_.uk-in-partnership-with-payrollfornannies.co_.uk_.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2518\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nannyjob.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/nannyjob.co_.uk-in-partnership-with-payrollfornannies.co_.uk_.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"940\" height=\"788\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nannyjob.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/nannyjob.co_.uk-in-partnership-with-payrollfornannies.co_.uk_.png 940w, https:\/\/www.nannyjob.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/nannyjob.co_.uk-in-partnership-with-payrollfornannies.co_.uk_-300x251.png 300w, https:\/\/www.nannyjob.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/nannyjob.co_.uk-in-partnership-with-payrollfornannies.co_.uk_-768x644.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 1362px) 62vw, 840px\" \/><\/a>Both parents are entitled to Keeping in Touch days.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Expectant parents can now share the 52 weeks of statutory maternity leave after the birth or adoption of their child.
