A fantastic four-day nanny position in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire will be available in July 2024.

You will be working with a friendly, professional and active family, who love the outdoors, visiting farms, bike rides and going for walks.

You will be responsible for looking after two wonderful children – a little boy aged four years and his sister aged 14 months. The family is looking for a kind, active and fun nanny who would like to become part of their happy family. The little boy starts full time school in September.

The role will mainly be sole charge, but the parents do sometimes work from home, so an organised and adaptable nanny willing to assist in maintaining a smooth-running household would be ideal.

The working hours will be Monday and Thursday, 07.30-17.30 and Tuesday and Wednesday, 07.30-19.00 (43 hours/week). Any additional hours and ad hoc babysitting will be mutually agreed and paid as overtime.

The parents are passionate about their children having fun while learning, aiming to meet their various developmental milestones. This involves a mixture of engaging and educational indoor activities such as reading stories, jigsaw puzzles, arts and crafts, imaginative play (dinosaurs are a current favourite!), baking, and more, along with ample outdoor play in the garden. You’ll also have the freedom to take the children to the park, music and playgroups, library for story-time, and to meet their friends to help them to socialise, all while ensuring their safety and happiness.

You will be responsible for keeping the areas the children use organised and tidy (kitchen, children’s laundry and ironing, children’s bedrooms, children’s bathroom, playroom, etc). Providing some assistance in maintaining the overall tidiness of the house, such as emptying the dishwasher, is also appreciated, although the family has a housekeeper.

You will be responsible for preparing healthy and nutritious meals and snacks for the children, with an emphasis on home-cooked as often as possible. Batch cooking would be appreciated.

You will need to be a careful and confident driver, there is a duty car available. If you prefer to use your own car, then duty mileage will be paid.
